About Julie
I'm an Aussie living in Karlsruhe, Germany with my two favourite Germans; my husband Peter and our beloved cat Luna.
I created a Palate & a Passport (ein Geschmack & ein Pass) to show my family and friends back in Australia, what mischief I'm getting myself into halfway across the globe. P&P (my short form for the title) also gives an insight into the way-of-life here in Germany, a wunderbar country where I can get my tongue around the food much quicker than I can with its language. P&P will also document my occasional travels through Europe and trips back to the land of Oz.
Living in the gastronomical area of Baden-Württemberg, we are positioned in middle of some of the finest food regions in all of Germany: the Pfalz wine region, the Black Forest and just across the German border is the French Elsass region. Trying out new food ingredients couldn't be any easier!
I enjoy shopping at the local markets for its fresh food produce, preparing it, sharing it, and photographing the dish before the feast.
P & P is a place where I can collect and share with you the culinary delights, charm, history and hospitality that is the German way-of-life; all illustrated through my enthusiasm for photography.
Thanks for visiting,
Julie
