Golden October has now arrived and a time to dose up on natural vitamins.

This tear drop squash is also known as Red Kuri. It is full of sweet flavour and colour, and makes a great ingredient for a fruity soup, a cake, pies or a hearty casserole. Its seeds can also be used in a stuffing to give it an extra tang. Now that Autumn is upon us-- a time that the sniffles may sneek-up amongst us; we could use a little help with this fruit's vitamins: rich in fiber and a dose of vitamin C. During our Golden October Hokkaido can be found by the table loads at the market, country road stalls and in food stores.
For some autumn warmth, here you can find my recipe for a fruity squash soup
